Certification, registered trademark, is a seal of quality that accurately measures institutions and companies’ respect towards Women’s Economic Principles (WEPs), identifying the possible existence in these institutions of a gender gap and suggesting specific correcting measures or recommendations to improve their performance according to the WEPs.
Becoming a “Women Empowered Company”
Certification is granted to companies and institutions that follow the WEPs in accordance with the WEP Gender Gap Analysis Tool, a business driven tool which helps identify gaps and opportunities for improvement towards gender equality.
UN Women has developed the WEPs GAP Tool as a self-assessment tool. use it to provide and external and objective evaluation that, if successful, allows the company’s identification as a Women Empowered Company through Certification, our seal of quality.
The audit that conduct evaluates the company’s performance; its internal organization; recruitment, development and promotion processes; wage compensation policies; work-life balance; value and supply chain; working environment; health and safety in the workplace; marketing approach; corporate social responsibility activities; and other corporate aspects.
This comprehensive assessment of companies’ performance in the field of gender equality and women’s empowerment allows to certify which of them meet the highest gender equality standards, and to make recommendations tailored to company-specific needs and circumstances.
